Police Staff Apprenticeships are currently available at two levels:
Earn while you learn with the Level 3 Motor vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician over a 4-year period after which you will be a qualified technician.
This apprenticeship has been designed to be recognised by Professional Engineering Institutions and successful apprentices can apply for the appropriate level of professional registration (EngTech).
From day one you will be working in fleet services in the motor vehicle workshop with experienced and talented technicians and engineers. You will also attend a high-quality training programme one-day per week (term time only) to gain all of the skills and knowledge required for the role.
With a starting salary of £18,790, this a great way to start your career the motor vehicle industry with Merseyside Police.
Entry requirements – Level 2 in Maths and English are essential for this role.

Earn while you learn with the Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship over over an 18-month period. On successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will be offered a permanent position in your department. All strands across the force will recruit Clerical Apprentices so you could be working in Criminal Justice, Corporate Support, The Academy, Local Policing to name a few.
Apprentices will work as an operational and support staff member providing locally delivered administrative and secretarial support service to our officers and staff.
From day one, you will be supported by a dedicated line manager and your award-winning training will be delivered by Riverside College in our state-of-the-art training facility.
With a starting salary of £19,149, this is fantastic way of joining Merseyside police with many of our apprentices progressing to other roles and being promoted within 12 months of completing their apprenticeship.
Entry requirements – Level 2 (C/4) in maths and English are essential along with good skills in IT, communication and customer service.
