ASB in Abbotsfield Estate, Bold and theft of motor vehicles including motorbikes, scrambler bikes and e-bikes which are being ridden anti-socially in the local community.

From feedback in the community were are aware of youth related ASB in the Abbotsfield Estate, in response to these concerns local policing officers deployed to the area providing a visible presence and sought the support for the Council/MFRS Street Intervention Team who conducted outreach in the area, engaging with youths and diverting them to other activities. This activity has led to a reduction in calls.
In relation to the use of scrambler bikes and e-bikes, local policing officers have utilised different tactics to combat the issues, a variety of high visibility and plain clothed deployments, use of specialist departments (Drones and Quad bikes) and held a partnership day of action, which resulted in the seizure of an illegal e-bike, an arrest of male and further seizure of Surron bike and 2 males arrested in the Bold area following a robbery in Haydock. Officers are continuing to work in partnership and are currently developing evidence for closure orders in relation to problematic address and criminal behaviour orders for problematic individuals.

Officers have increased visibility in the area and conducted further investigations into motorbike thefts which led to the arrest of 2 x teenagers, who are now on police bail pending further enquiries. The team have increased the number of bike marking events in the area and providing crime prevention advice to the community. Work is currently ongoing with partners for a closure order for a problematic address in the area

Anti‑social use of motorbikes, scrambler bikes and e‑bikes has become a key priority for the Bold area.
Officers have increased patrols, particularly within the local woodlands, after recent activity suggested that bikes are being hidden further away from the Clock Face area to avoid detection.
The team is working closely with Housing partners to review the tenancies of individuals believed to be involved in this behaviour. A number of arrests have already been made, and several bikes have been seized for being ridden anti‑socially or found to be unroadworthy.
Officers will continue to target those responsible and encourage residents to report any sightings or concerns to help reduce this behaviour in the community.
