The community has raised ongoing concerns about several locations affected by persistent speeding issues. Areas specifically highlighted include Eastham Village, Bridle Road, and Ferry Road, where residents have expressed concerns about road safety and the risks to pedestrians and general traffic.
This feedback reflects a clear community priority for enhanced enforcement and preventative measures to address these issues and improve overall safety.Action taken:
In response to these concerns, local officers have increased high-visibility patrols in areas affected by bike robberies, alongside targeted operations to identify offenders and reassure residents. Officers are also engaging with schools, youth groups, and local partners to promote bike security and encourage the reporting of suspicious behaviour.
To address the speeding issues the neighbourhood team has undertaken speed-monitoring deployments across Eastham Village, Bridle Road, and Ferry Road, working closely with Roads Policing and the Local Authority. These activities aim to deter dangerous driving, gather evidence for enforcement, and ensure that community feedback directly informs future policing activity.
