Our Auditor’s Annual Report (‘AAR’) summarises the work we have undertaken as the auditor for the Police and Crime Commissioner for Merseyside (‘the PCC’) and the Chief Constable of Merseyside Police (‘the CC’) for the year ended 31 March 2025. Although this report is addressed to the PCC and the CC, it is designed to be read by a wider audience including members of the public and other external stakeholders.

This policy outlines Merseyside Police’s approach to investigating, managing, and supervising criminal investigations and applies to all officers and staff within Merseyside Police involved in crime investigation, including volume crime, vulnerability, serious and complex crimes.

The main aim of this policy is to prevent the occurrence of honour based abuse and forced marriage. It is designed to help identify future victims of honour based abuse and forced marriage and reduce the likelihood of future harm, including homicide, serious injury and acts of violence.

The aim of this policy to ensure Merseyside Police holds and manages records for a legitimate policing purpose.

Notice is hereby given under The Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015 that from Tuesday 1st July to Monday 11th August 2025 between the hours of 9.30 am and 4.00 pm, on weekdays any person may inspect, and make copies of the accounts and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers, receipts and other related documents of the Commissioner and/or the Chief Constable for the year ended 31st March 2025, as stipulated in Sections 25 and 26 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014.
