Local retailers have reported an increase in shop thefts within the area. There is also intelligence to suggest that some offenders are travelling into the locality using improved bus routes, contributing to the rise in incidents.
In addition, concerns have been raised regarding the night-time economy, with associated antisocial behaviour impacting the area. Reports include disorder, intoxication-related incidents, and nuisance behaviour such as shouting, littering, and intimidation, which are affecting both businesses and the wider community.

A coordinated approach is in place to tackle offending, including within the night-time economy:
High-visibility patrols at hotspot locations and peak times, including late-night periods.
Plain-clothes operations with retailers, licensed premises, and security staff.
Partnership work with transport providers to disrupt travelling offenders.
Dedicated NTE activity, including joint patrols with licensing, engagement with venues, and action against alcohol-related ASB and violence.
Targeted offender management with partner agencies to address repeat offenders.
Prolific offenders targeted through arrests, bail conditions, banning notices, and Criminal Behaviour Orders (CBOs).
