Residents have raised concerns regarding drug dealing, persistent speeding, and wider traffic-related issues in the area.
There are also ongoing concerns around anti-social behaviour, particularly near abandoned buildings in the Oxton Village area.
Vehicle crime in this area has also bee raised as a concern by the community.
Issued 04 June 2026
In response to concerns around drug dealing, officers have increased high-visibility patrols in affected areas alongside targeted disruption activity. This includes both overt patrols and covert work to identify those involved, gather intelligence, and support enforcement action.
To address speeding and traffic issues, officers are working jointly with the council to deliver targeted speeding operations on roads highlighted by residents. Activity includes stop-checks, enforcement where appropriate, and engagement with drivers to promote safer road use.
Regarding anti-social behaviour near abandoned buildings in Oxton Village, officers are maintaining regular passing attention to deter activity. They are also working with council partners to develop longer-term solutions, including improved site security and potential redevelopment, to prevent ongoing ASB.
