Residents in Oxton Village and the surrounding area continue to raise concerns regarding suspected drug dealing and associated anti-social behaviour. Particular concerns have been reported around youths and drug users gaining access to abandoned buildings, which has led to increased reports of nuisance behaviour and concerns for community safety. Speeding and road safety issues remain a concern for local residents, alongside incidents of vehicle crime, particularly thefts from motor vehicles.

Neighbourhood Policing officers will continue to carry out high-visibility foot and vehicle patrols in key locations identified through community feedback and local intelligence. Officers are working closely with local councillors and partner agencies to address issues surrounding abandoned buildings, including measures to improve security and repair alleyway gates where criminality and drug-related activity have been reported.
Targeted speeding operations will be conducted to address road safety concerns and deter dangerous driving. Crime prevention initiatives, including letter drops providing advice on vehicle security and burglary prevention, will continue to be delivered to residents.

Officers will also maintain a visible community presence through Mobile Police Station surgeries, providing opportunities for residents to raise concerns, receive crime prevention advice and help shape local policing priorities. Proactive intelligence-led activity will continue to identify and disrupt those involved in drug-related criminality and improve the safety and confidence of the local community.
