Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is a group of Merseyside police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.
We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across Merseyside.
We are responding to community concerns linked to drug and alcohol related anti social behaviour in the ward. Over the last month we are aware of reports of drug dealing taking place from residential properties in and around the Fraser Street and London Road areas.

We continue to work closely with a range of partner organisations to address this community priority and tackle the issues affecting the area. This includes Housing Solutions, housing associations, Liverpool City Council, The Whitechapel Centre, local hostel providers and several support agencies. Through this partnership approach, we aim to reduce anti-social behaviour associated with individuals living in or visiting the area, while ensuring that those requiring support can access the services available to them.
Throughout September officers continue to carry out regular high-visibility and plain-clothes patrols, engaging with residents, businesses and community leaders to better understand local concerns and gather valuable intelligence.
During the last month, this activity has led to the arrest of several key nominals in the London Road area for offences relating to possession with intent to supply controlled drugs. These individuals were already suspected of being involved in wider drug-dealing activity within the ward and have subsequently been remanded into custody pending trial. This enforcement activity demonstrates our continued commitment to disrupting organised criminality and targeting those responsible for causing harm within our communities.
Building on the success of previous partnership activity, a further multi-agency Day of Action was undertaken during September by Merseyside Police the operation focused on tackling anti-social behaviour, safeguarding vulnerable individuals, improving the local environment and ensuring that support and intervention opportunities were available to those in need. This continued partnership approach demonstrates our collective commitment to delivering lasting improvements for the area.
In addition, officers have continued engaging in discussions focused on strengthening communication between a range of partner agencies, increasing opportunities for the community to continue to submit intelligence, and developing a coordinated response to issues affecting the Fraser Street area. This work has been supported by inspections of local hostel accommodation undertaken by Liverpool City Council, with partners continuing to work together to ensure providers are meeting the expected standards and addressing concerns raised by the community.
We are also working with Liverpool City Council to explore opportunities for enhanced CCTV coverage within the area. This work aims to improve community safety, support investigations, provide reassurance to residents and businesses, and assist partners in identifying those responsible for crime and anti-social behaviour.
Alongside enforcement activity, we continue to support local initiatives aimed at tackling the root causes of offending. One such project involves the use of community art to encourage individuals experiencing addiction and other vulnerabilities to engage positively with support services and make sustainable lifestyle changes.
Information provided by residents, businesses and community representatives remains vital in helping us identify those responsible for crime and anti-social behaviour. We would encourage members of the community to continue reporting incidents and sharing information with Merseyside Police and our partners. Intelligence can also be provided anonymously through Crimestoppers, and even the smallest piece of information can assist officers in building a wider intelligence picture and taking action against those involved in criminality.
If you know where drug dealing is taking place, you can report it anonymously to Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or online via the Crimestoppers website.
Incidents can be reported to Merseyside Police by calling 101, or 999 in an emergency. Reports can also be made online or by visiting a General Enquiry Office at Admiral Street or St Anne Street Police Station.
