    Action taken:

  • Priority:

We are responding to community concerns linked to drug activity in several areas of the ward. Over the last month we are aware of reports of drug dealing taking place from residential properties in the northern end of the ward towards Crown Street.

    Issued 01 June 2026

    Action taken:

We continue to work closely with a range of partner agencies, including Housing Associations, as part of a coordinated multi-agency approach to address concerns within the area.

Neighbourhood officers have been actively engaging with residents, business owners and community representatives while on patrol to better understand local concerns, address issues affecting the community, and gather valuable information and intelligence.

A number of proactive operations have been conducted, with officers carrying out both high-visibility and plain-clothed patrols to deter criminal and anti-social behaviour and identify those responsible for causing harm within the community.

Information provided by residents, businesses and community groups plays a vital role in helping officers identify offenders, build intelligence and take positive action. We continue to work alongside partner agencies, schools and local organisations to respond robustly to reports of crime and anti-social behaviour, using appropriate powers and legislation where necessary.

We encourage all residents and businesses to report incidents of anti-social behaviour. Reports help us build an accurate picture of ongoing issues and may support the use of measures such as Community Protection Notices to address behaviour that negatively impacts the local community.

If you have information about drug dealing or related criminality in the area, you can report it anonymously to Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or online at:
    https://crimestoppers-uk.org/give-information/forms/pre-form

To report crime or anti-social behaviour, please contact police via 101, or 999 in an emergency. Reports can also be submitted online or in person at your local General Enquiry Office at Admiral Street Police Station or St Anne Street Police Station.

    Actioned 30 June 2026
