We have arrested four people and carried out several stop searches in Birkenhead town centre in an ongoing proactive policing operation to target suspected criminals and protect those living in the area.
Recent feedback from the local community indicates a noticeable increase in anti‑social behaviour around Bebington Road and Church Road, particularly:
Groups of youths gathering in the area
Noise, nuisance and intimidation felt by some residents.
Issues occurring mainly during evenings and weekends.
Concerns about high‑powered electric pedal cycles being ridden in a dangerous or anti‑social manner
Community Impact
Residents have reported feeling unsettled and, at times, unsafe due to the behaviour of some individuals. The increased presence of high‑powered electric pedal cycles presents additional concerns around public safety, illegal road use, and nuisance behaviour.

Increased high‑visibility patrols during peak times (evenings & weekends)
Targeted engagement with identified youth groups and individuals
Enforcement activity where criminal or dangerous behaviour is identified, including offences relating to electric pedal cycles
Use of dispersal powers, where appropriate, to tackle persistent ASB
Intelligence gathering, including reviewing CCTV opportunities and working with the community to identify hotspots and key individuals
